No, NuCarni is not a self insert game. The player is not the MC. The MC is Eiden and only Eiden. You cannot insert yourself into his story, he has his own lore. His lore and by extension his identity as a gay + poly person is important to the story.

One of my favourite things about NU: Carnival is Eiden himself. He's such a hilarious character who has a barbie doll list of past part-time jobs. I love how he's a versatile switch who has different intimacy styles with different men and the voice actor pops off in every scene!
