And it’s a final—congratulations to @StGabriel_RCSD on capturing the 2022 Girl’s Aerial Football City Championship—22-6 over @StDominicYQR! Great battle and wonderful efforts put forth by both teams!
We had so much fun this afternoon at the Gr. 7 career fair! The gym was hopping! Thank you @mlang_67 and @scottkuntz22 for organizing such a fun event! @RCSD_No81
Congratulations to St.Gabriel Girls Football, 2021 City Champs. It was a cold, wet game but the girls stepped up to the challenge. St. Mary's girls made it an exciting game, down to the last play.

I find being a Connected Ed teacher has helped me embed tech into every subject, lesson, assignment, project and the way I connect with Ss, parents and how we connect with each other. I would find it very difficult to teach any other way.

I like to show and talk about the negative ways social media can be used but show more examples of positive use. Especially at the start of the school year. Then give opportunities for them to contribute throughout the year in all subjects.
@RCSDPodPD@JCasaTodd I like the idea of have a class device that students would use to post, students taking turns.
I used my class TEAMS for students to post, share and comment on their and other students work in our class and other classes we connect with. Then try other social media.
@RCSDPodPD@JCasaTodd@courosa@digcitizen@RCSD_No81 I look forward to this week's discussions. I believe it is important to give our students opportunities to practice, observe and model being positive digital citizens and not just tell them about it or giving them "rules".
#rcsdpodpd Q2) I will need to accept that things will be different, probably at times chaotic and be changing quickly. To realize that everyone is going through the same things and we can help each other.
#rcsdpodpd Q1) Modeling the calm, flexibility and understanding I want to see in Ss. Try to have at least 1 individual conversation with each Ss in the first couple of weeks. Give Ss a platform to "tell me more". Fun, competitive brain breaks throughout the day. Structure.
#rcsdpodpd A3) I totally agree we need to keep it simple and not try to do things on our own. We also need to be flexible and accommodating to the current situations.
#rcsdpodpd A2) In order to keep students collaborating and share I will rely more on tools such as Teams, Oneonta, Flipgrid and shared PP and Word docs.
#rcsdpodpd A1) May have to "set aside" face to face partner work and small group. It will be difficult to spread your class out around the school in small groups to collaborate and share.
#rcsdpodpd A4) Biggest obstacle with remote learning, for me, was connecting with ALL students. It was also difficult to help students remotely that were having hardware or software problems with the devices they were using.
#rcsdpodpd A3) Giving Ss the tools, information and confidence so they are able and feel confident to "flip" the classroom. No matter what the school plan is or where they will be learning they are able to work at a pace they feel comfortable with and they will find some success.
