Frontend performance is rarely one number.

Network time, JavaScript work, rendering, images, fonts and third-party scripts can all make the same page feel slow for different reasons.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@ryantcwynar Thank you again. Really appreciate it.

Streaming services keeps on removing shows. Paying for Amazon Prime. Now, I am seriously considering getting a homelab /server and using a service like Jellyfin. It should not be so difficult to do. Anybody else have done this recently?

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@ryantcwynar Thanks. This is so helpful. I was also thinking about local AI on the side too. Fantastic if the Mac mini can do both.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@aunanue Cool. I will start soon. What did you use for storage? A NAS, Mac mini, or an old computer?

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@ryantcwynar Thanks Ryan. I will play around with this. I might get a Mac mini or a NAS for the external drive/computer.

A small API detail can affect the whole client experience.

Consistent error responses make frontend code much easier to write than five endpoints returning errors in five different formats.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

The more code AI writes for you, the more important one skill becomes: being able to explain why the code works without asking the AI again.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@trq212 This should save a lot of duplicated project instructions. If a team is using Claude Code, Codex, Copilot or Cursor on the same repo, having one shared file makes way more sense.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@alexandr_wang Honestly, admitting this is better than pretending every weak demo is a prompting problem. A model can be great at coding and still have some pretty weird gaps. Testing it on your own work reveals more than one viral comparison.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@mweinbach This is the kind of AI coding demo that says something. Porting a game across CPU architecture, OS APIs and the graphics stack is a very different problem from generating another app from scratch.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@manxlab Concentrate on the fundamentals, AI models will come and go and don’t give in into the hype. Also, own your own product when possible, be less dependent.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@Denche2005 Not drastically. No.For every 1 millionaire that AI made rich, 10000 or more stay where they are or get fired. Building more or quickly does nothing . Junior developers can testify.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@kapilansh_twt AI is a tool and will always need humans to build, use, and guide it. These big corporations and tech create fear and hype to tame the population. And they are still the ones getting richer.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@samongaro_ Exactly. Very important.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@JulieFrench_ A and C are the best. Especially C. C means that you have a desired product.

How is your React skills? #TikTok https://t.co/vghoSoWkIh

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@k_ritij24 Exactly, it is a good skill to learn. Programmers can code well, document well, but when it comes to communication, they fall short. It is hard but it can get better with practice.

[Michael Leigh @MLeighDev]

@skpnky Yes. Still very good money though. Not in Switzerland 🇨🇭 too.
