A degree is meaningless IF the individual doesn’t also have the people skills required for most roles. I went to a uni with no entry requirements, worked hard, and landed a dream role last October. Entry requirements mean next to nothing.

Same for DWP. I didn’t get through the fast stream but came in as EO last October. Already being pushed to go for HEO in March. Progression is very open ended and up to the individual, especially below Grade 7.

I joined straight out of Uni as an EO back in 2005 - if you're thinking about the Faststream don't rule out applying as an EO - the work is just as fascinating and opportunities for promotion are great!
