as someone who used to work in a law firm i can give you my personal views on why bighit will not issue a statement before police:
-bighit and 🐱 are the defendants in this case, even if they fully comply with police, they will not issue another statement until knowing the full police report. if they make a statement before it's released, they risk further indicting their client with any discrepancies or even nuanced differences and causing more backlash. and simply, you should NEVER, as a defendant, make a statement before the police. you should only respond to whatever evidence they have. you do not give evidence against yourself, that's law 101 and why they always say do not speak to police without a lawyer.
-they're most likely waiting for everything in the report in order to defend their client the best they can. that's just how law works. we most likely won't have a statement until they have been given the full report and next steps in the investigation.
