From its carcass flows the red, wisp-like energy that had possessed it, and it’s quickly carried off by the wind before Aeri could react.

Then, finally, there’s silence.

The coffee douses the coffee machine, and it makes more pained whining and churning noises.

The magical energy tries to repair itself, but it’s too much to overcome, and the machine drops down onto the ground with a loud thud.

Just before the spew hits, a glowing shield appears in front of her as Aeri raises both forehooves. The coffee paints the translucent magic and drips down to boil atop the dirt road.

Using her hooves, Aeri contorts the shield to collect the liquid before flinging it right back!

The machine begins to spew more black coffee, but Aeri’s earlier dodge had put her in front of an onlooking crowd; rolling away again would only put them in the line of fire instead.

Instead, she taps a new sigil and stomps on the ground again.

Aeri comes out of the roll with her hoof raised. With her telekinesis spell still active, she points at a nearby chair and flings it at the floating machine.

It clanks against the coffee machine and causes it to spark, losing altitude momentarily before recovering.

As soon as her own magic was activated, the coffee machine turned its attention to her.

It launches another spray at her, and Aeri dashes to the side using her wings as propulsion.

As she rolls across the ground, the coffee splashes against the wall behind her, melting it.

“Look out!”

Aeri taps a sigil on her cloak, causing it to glow gold. Then, she stomps on the ground, and the magic is released.

A telekinesis field wraps around the nearest pony and yanks him out of the way of the dangerous spray of scalding liquid, pushing him to safety.

Outside, ponies look on in horror as the coffee machine begins to flash red, the controls going haywire. Then, it spews out a torrent of black coffee like a firehose, causing the onlookers to flee in panic!

The liquid sizzles against the ground; it’s boiling hot.

The sound stops just as quickly as it started, and she looks up to see the floating machine quickly zoom out of the alley into the street. The magic swirling around it grows in size and intensity, soon glowing like a sun.

Aeri quickly jumps back to her hooves and races after it.

Before she can make contact, the coffee machine suddenly lets out an ear-piercing shriek!

Aeri withdraws with a yelp, pressing both hooves to her ears and writhing on the ground in a vain attempt to protect her eardrums.

“What the hell?!”

This was definitely something supernatural.

Aeri slowly steps into the alley and makes her way towards the object, casting her shadow against the wall as a result. The closer she gets, the faster the wisps begin to swirl around it.

Tentatively, she reaches out with a hoof.
