I am SO proud of my friend Annie Andrews for so many reasons every day, but today I’m proud that she is using her platform as a candidate to boost public knowledge about the measles outbreak in her state.
This is responsible leadership 🩵
"This is a moment that calls for collective responsibility and the courage to speak out."

Reading two consecutive posts this afternoon.
First post- ACIP working to dismantle vaccine policy in the US.
Second post- Measles cases continue to climb in SC.
This is not a coincidence.
Thanks for setting him straight, @SenBillCassidy. It’s the least you could do after you let us all down by opening up the floodgates for this disaster of a DHHS secretary.
Empirically, this is not true. Not all mothers have prenatal care. Some get infected between testing in the first trimester and delivery. In some cases, the test is overlooked. If a child is infected at birth, they have a 95% chance of becoming chronically infected UNLESS, they get one dose of hepatitis B vaccine. If they do, they have less than a 5% chance of being chronically infected.
Medicine and public health have added three decades to the human lifespan. Vaccination alone produced 40% of the reduction in child deaths.
And now a disturbed and unqualified man driven by crackpot theories is destroying the foundations of this work, including CDC.
@greenhousemd My first rotation was also OB-GYN and I started on the GYN oncology service. I remember so many cases of cervical cancer and the complications that stubbornly crept through bodies young and old. Having a vaccine to prevent this cancer is an amazing gift.
Laughing. In front of a cage, under a tent, in the middle of a swamp, surrounded by alligators - where they plan to hold HUMAN BEINGS whose only crime was crossing a border in search of a better life for their family.
These are the darkest of days.
Please - it is OK to say that you didn’t vote for this. It is OK to say ENOUGH.
And if you look at this picture and feel joy - may God have mercy on your soul.
JUST NOW: Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear on Donald Trump’s Big Ugly Bill: “They’re adding trillions of dollars to the national debt. They’re going to blow a hole in every state’s budget with what they’re doing to SNAP. They’re going to fire a ton of healthcare workers. They’re gonna throw people off their healthcare coverage. They’re gonna close rural hospitals and more people are going to go hungry. What could be beautiful about that? Absolutely nothing.”
