Dear Teachers,
Do not demand that students turn on their cameras in the virtual classroom if they do not feel comfortable doing do. There are a number of reasons that educators should know by now.
Let that one go if you are still doing it.
Dear parents....the MoE #FireLecce had NOT sent information about online learning to boards yet...expected THIS EVENING!!! Tomorrow is not going to be smooth...please understand this is NOT in educators' control
Schools return online tomorrow but as far as I can tell right now, Boards still don't have any details or directives from the Ministry of Education.
2 million children & youth heading back to school.... about 200,000 workers (teachers, ECEs, etc)
Crickets. Nothing. Nada.
Gr. 1/2s enjoyed an experiment for our 1st #Healthlesson of the year. What happens when #germsvssoap? Fill a bowl with water to represent your hands, add pepper to represent germs. Slowly add a drop of soap to see what happens! Lots of ooohs & ahhhs were heard! @StEdwardCS
If you can see the mistakes you made as a first year teacher (or first year admin), that’s a good thing.
It means you are learning.
If you knew everything already then, you wouldn’t be a lifelong learner.

I see folks calling for others to lower flags to acknowledge the uncovering of graves in BC. Although I agree, I want more... this action is performative... what I want to see is school boards doing an analysis
Effective Monday, May 31 to June 8, the flags will be lowered on all OCDSB schools and buildings. They will remain lowered for 215 hours in respect for each child who did not return home. #215Children#EveryChildMatters
The OCDSB will honour the lives of the 215 children whose bodies were found in a mass grave at a residential school in Kamloops, B.C. https://t.co/FvF3T4Yzz4 #215Children#EveryChildMatters
Welcome to Canada, where the remains of 215 Indigenous children are found at a former Kamloops residential school, but leaders struggle to accept that systemic racism is real and tell us that the use of the word “genocide” is controversial.
