This week has been Music Week and in Year 6 we have been learning about the musical Wicked! As part of this, we have begun to learn the song, ‘For Good’ - a powerful song about friendship! @morley_newlands#MNAMusicWeek
As part of our new unit on persuasive writing, we are exploring lots of different persuasive texts and identifying the tools that have been used to try to persuade the reader. Lots of us were convinced to be Henry VIII’s new wife! @morley_newlands
In Year 6 this morning, we are creating police incidents board about the German plane crash in Letters from the Lighthouse to help us gather all the information we need for our newspaper reports. @morley_newlands

We are on our way back home! We are due back to school at approximately 4.30pm. Please collect your children from the Year 6 door. We will be going back to the classrooms to drop off our lanyards and high vis jackets before leaving, but will be out shortly after @morley_newlands
We have arrived! The weather is beautiful, the sea is blue and we are fully immersed in our activities for the day. This morning we have a coastline erosion workshop and cliff sketching! @morley_newlands
Our new theme is ‘Into the Unknown’ and we have started by making our own compasses by magnetising needles and floating cork circles on water to find magnetic North @morley_newlands
Our new Creative Curriculum theme has started with the arrival of a mysterious suitcase full of interesting artefacts! Can you work out what we are going to be studying this term? @morley_newlands
We are hard at work in the Purple Zone in maths this morning! Long multiplication can be tricky but we’ve shown great perseverance and resilience. @morley_newlands

We can’t wait to open our doors to prospective families tomorrow evening. Our Principal, Adam Ryder, will be delivering his speech at 6.15pm and then again at 7.15pm. Come and see what The Morley Academy has to offer for your child - we look forward to meeting everyone.
This afternoon we took part in a seashore safari activity. We hunted for lots of different creatures and some of us were brave enough to hold some of the wildlife! @morley_newlands
