A 70-year-old visitor in the BWCA needed help after a suspected broken leg near Stuart River portage on Sunday.
We reached the injured man and get him to a Duluth hospital. Thankfully, the injuries are not life-threatening.

In the past month, troopers stopped these impaired drivers:
• 95 in a 60, arrested for DWI
• 115 in a 55 with .20 BAC
• 102 in a 55 underage driver drinking with friends
Drive sober. Slow down.

Tomorrow is State Patrol Day at the @mnstatefair. This year marks 25 years since Trooper Ted Foss’s line-of-duty death. Visit our booths at the North End from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to sign the memorial and honor his memory by moving over for flashing lights — it’s the law.
Trooper 7 and the @MnAirRescueTeam — made up of members of the State Patrol and @StPaulFireDept — rescued a patient Aug. 11 from a remote campsite in Voyageurs National Park.
The camper was flown to care in International Falls.
