No offense to the good folks in Omaha, but if West Virginia wins tomorrow just move the CWS to Morgantown - THE BEST atmosphere in college baseball (and it’s not even close).
My comment was intended as tongue-in-cheek. I know that Omaha has a great reputation as the host of the CWS and the @WVUBaseball appearance there this year will only add to its lore and reputation. You’ll not soon forget Mountaineer Nation in Omaha!
@MntnrMark Morgantown couldn’t handle the logistical demands,. A weekend series is one thing; a two-week stretch with eight teams and their fans, other CWS fans, and the media is a totally different animal. It is way too small.
@GordonHowe10 I’ve been to an SEC football stadium and it’s electric, for sure - especially LSU at night. I don’t know if SEC baseball stadiums are anything like the football atmospheres, but I suspect it’s rabid-on-steroids in a lot of SEC ballparks.
@Bigredskinsfan1@dvh_burner@WVUBaseball It’s been my honor and privilege to be the play-by-play broadcaster for Maryland’s football and lacrosse public HS championships the last several years. Maryland lacrosse is the bomb! Dunbar-Mervo in FB is “must see”! QO football is pretty impressive, too.
@Bigredskinsfan1@dvh_burner Presuming @WVUBaseball can finish off its Super the right way, Omaha will be welcoming a rabid, loyal, pepperoni roll-eating fan base unlike anything Omaha has ever seen. Brush up on the lyrics to “Country Roads”; we welcome all Omahans to join in when we sing it in Nebraska.
Astonished! @Flash_Garrett traded to the @RamsNFL. The @Browns can’t ever seem to get out of their own way. I never would have done it. Tortured @Browns fans can only hope this somehow eventually works out well; if not, this could be the biggest trade bust ever.
Listen? Sure. That’s harmless. And if a team offered three or four straight years of #1 and #2 picks I might mull it over, though I’d still likely say no. Never trade a goat in its prime!
The LA Rams have called the Cleveland Browns about star EDGE Myles Garrett, per a source. The Rams have reportedly offered a "Rickey Williams-esque" type trade for Garrett. The Philadelphia Eagles are also making a strong push, offering WR AJ Brown and more for the star. Craziest part too? The Browns are listening to all the calls currently. The Eagles also made a strong push during the draft for Garrett.
Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. There are too many Myles Garrett rumors floating around to ignore. I expect a deal gets done around three first round picks. If Cleveland trades the best pass rusher in football, that won’t be the full package.
Trade Myles Garrett:
Rough season.
Haul of assets.
Guaranteed return. (Injury risk)
Direct path to franchise QB.
Keep Myles Garrett:
Maybe winning season.
More competitive.
Hope a QB develops. (⌚️)
Risk of decline/injury.
Too many wins to pick a QB high.
What say you?
Browns fans, would you make this trade?
Rams:
+ EDGE Myles Garrett
Browns
+ EDGE Jared Verse
+ 2027 1st round pick
+ 2028 1st round pick
Would that be enough to get two firsts and a young star to replace Myles?
