Long story short, Trump’s new EO is so poorly written it would seemingly deny citizenship even to people who the Trump DOJ previously argued were guaranteed citizenship under the 14th Amendment.
When for 2028 people point to how Vance served as the toady for a president who made billions upon billions of dollars from the office, effectively legalized insider trading, etc, he's going to say, "Excuse, excuse me, I fought against fraud. We went after daycares." Dead-eyed sycophants like Jack Posobiec will say it's the most incredible rebuttal ever. Their whole plan to protect Vance against blowback for Trump's corruption hinges on whether MAGA can convince people that the president more than doubling his net worth between 2024 and 2026 directly through corrupting the White House is a less serious crime than petty fraud that Vance will associate with immigrants, because he also knows he has to appeal to racism to make it work.
no one hates america and americans more than the republicans who burn our tax dollars on endless wars for profit and plunder at the behest of the epstein class. you are their servant. you will lose.
I’m old enough to remember when we used to call examples like @AbdulElSayed “The American Dream”
Michigander born to immigrants, attends UM, then Oxford on Rhodes Scholarship & Columbia for his MD.
His commencement address mentions:
“…audacity to believe we can change this world…”
El-Sayed: What do you think Trump was trying to highlight? He was trying to highlight aspects of my name and my faith in what is a play toward a kind of a kind of islamophobia that I think none of us really want…
Notice how Muslims serving in US government are pushing for all kinds of progressive policy while Christian evangelicals send us back centuries and strip our rights on a daily basis.
Seems like Muslim politicians aren’t the problem it’s Christian nationalists but yall won’t hear me. 😀
Vance's appeal to racism shows how bigotry is the unifying principle of the MAGA GOP. There is no other mechanism that these people value more for holding together the new right. It's saying, "Sure, life is worse, but do you want some nonwhite guy with a foreign-sounding name in charge? I didn't think so." That's it. No promise of competence. No plan to build a better future. All they have is appealing to the very worst aspects of human nature and fearmongering.
