I made it over to Japan via ferry - haven’t been since ICOM 2019 - so naturally I took a day trip to see Kumamoto castle ☺️

A few days back at another absolutely fantastic museum - The National Marine Museum in #Mokpo. Particularly fascinating to see the process of underwater archaeology - considering my experience is mostly from the desert!

Topics ranged from Greek and Latin philology to tattooing in (pre-modern) China, Confucian philosophy and even cyberbullying as well as multisectoral partnerships. My own talk (with Eva Hemauer) dealt with the research history of human sacrifice in Egypt.
