You cannot access content outside of the Japanese eShop (you might be able to use regular game carts but I can't find a source that's super clear and Nintendo's site says no). On top of this, even multilingual games are locked to Japanese afaik.

@YTSirBlack1 @SonicHacki Yes. They sell 2 versions of the Switch in Japan. One is global and not region locked (way more expensive and closer to global MSRP) and one that is region locked to Japan but is much cheaper.

Again, this was to mitigate scalpers and create a cheaper unit in Japan.
