H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, held a series of meetings with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Pedro Manuel Moreno, Officer-in-Charge and Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development; and Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The meetings focused on the latest developments in international trade, ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade and investment, and preparations for the World Investment Forum 2026, which will be hosted by Doha from 25 to 27 October 2026. Discussions also highlighted the strength and resilience of Qatar’s economy and its ability to sustain growth and adapt to evolving global economic conditions.

During his visit, H.E. also participated in the WIPO High-Level Ministerial Dialogue.

عقد سعادة الدكتور أحمد بن محمد السيد، وزير الدولة لشؤون التجارة الخارجية، سلسلة من الاجتماعات مع ك��ٍّ من سعادة الدكتورة نغوزي أوكونجو إيويالا، المدير العام لمنظمة التجارة العالمية، وسعادة السيد بيدرو مانويل مورينو، الأمين العام بالإنابة ونائب الأمين العام للأونكتاد، وسعادة السيد دارين تانغ، المدير العام للمنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية، جرى خلالها بحث مستجدات التجارة الدولية، وسبل تعزيز التعاون في مجالات التجارة والاستثمار، إلى جانب التحضيرات الخاصة بمنتدى الاستثمار العالمي الذي تستضيفه الدوحة خلال الفترة من 25 إلى 27 أكتوبر 2026. كما تناولت الاجتماعات قوة ومرونة الاقتصاد القطري وقدرته على مواصلة النمو والتكيف مع المتغيرات الاقتصادية في ظل الظروف الراهنة. كما شارك سعادته في الحوار الوزاري رفيع المستوى للمنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية.

اجتمع سعادة الشيخ فيصل بن ثاني بن فيصل آل ثاني، وزير التجارة والصناعة، مع سعادة السيد سعيد عبدالله القمزي، سفير دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة الشقيقة لدى الدولة.

وجرى خلال الاجتماع استعراض علاقات التعاون بين البلدين، وبحث سبل تعزيزها، لا سيما في المجالات التجارية والاستثمارية والصناعية، بما يدعم الشراكة الاقتصادية بين البلدين.

وتؤكد المؤشرات الاقتصادية متانة هذه العلاقات، إذ بلغ حجم التبادل التجاري 8.4 مليار دولار أمريكي خلال عام 2025، بنمو 10% مقارنة بعام 2024، فيما تجاوزت قيمة الصادرات القطرية إلى دولة الإمارا�� 6.7 مليار دولار أمريكي.

H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, met with H.E. Saeed Abdullah Al Qamzi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the State of Qatar.

During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and industry, in support of the growing economic partnership between Qatar and the UAE.

Economic indicators reflect the strength of these relations, with bilateral trade reaching USD 8.4 billion in 2025, representing a 10% increase compared to 2024. The value of Qatari exports to the UAE also exceeded USD 6.7 billion during the same year.

وتهدف الاتفاقية إلى تحقيق الاستخدام الأمثل للموارد الوطنية، وتعزيز التنمية الصناعية المستدامة وتنافسية القطاع الصناعي، بما يسهم في تحقيق مستهدفات رؤية قطر الوط��ية 2030.

Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, witnessed today the signing ceremony of an agreement between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QatarEnergy on the governance of allocating natural resources for industrial investment opportunities, in support of the development of the new Medium Industries Area and Mesaieed Industrial City.

The agreement aims to optimize the use of national resources, enhance sustainable industrial development, and strengthen the competitiveness of the industrial sector, contributing to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives.

Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, chaired the State of Qatar’s delegation participating in the extraordinary joint meeting of the Commercial Cooperation Committee and the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was held via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by Their Excellencies the Ministers of Commerce and Industry of the GCC states, as well as the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

During the meeting, Their Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Commerce and Industry discussed the topics listed on the agenda, foremost among them the importance of establishing strategic storage zones and building a joint Gulf system for food and other essential supplies. The Ministers also adopted the appropriate decisions and recommendations in this regard.

وناقش أصحاب السعادة وزراء التجارة والصناعة بدول المجلس الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، وفي مقدمتها أهمية إنشاء مناطق للخزن الاستراتيجي وبناء منظومة خليجية مشتركة للغذاء والاحتياجات الأخرى، كما اتخذوا القرارات والتوصيات المناسبة بشأنها.

H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs participated in the Pax Silica Summit held in Washington, D.C., United States.

The summit brought together member states of the Pax Silica Initiative. The first day focused on industry and business-related topics, while the second day addressed government priorities and ways to strengthen cooperation among member states.

During the summit, His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Trade signed the Joint Statement on Artificial Intelligence Opportunities between the State of Qatar and the United States of America. The statement serves as an annex to the Pax Silica Declaration, which was signed in January of this year.

وشهدت القمة مشاركة الدول الأعضاء في مبادرة "باكس سيليكا"، حيث خُصص اليوم الأول لمناقشة الموضوعات المتعلقة بالصناعة والشركات، فيما ركز اليوم الثاني على الموضوعات الحكومية وسبل تعزيز التعاون بين الدول الأعضاء.

وخلال مشاركته في القمة، وقع سعادة وزير الدولة لشؤون التجارة الخارجية على البيان المشترك بشأن فرص الذكاء الاصطناعي بين دولة قطر والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، والذي يُعد ملحقًا لإعلان "باكس سيليكا" الموقع في شهر يناير من العام الجاري.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry carried out intensive inspection campaigns across various areas of the country, as part of its efforts to enhance compliance with the provisions of intellectual property laws and Law No. 7 of 2002 on the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights, and to ensure that commercial establishments comply with the relevant regulations and legislation.

The inspection campaigns resulted in the detection of a number of violations involving the public display and transmission of audiovisual works without obtaining the necessary permits or approvals from the rights holders.

The Ministry affirms that respecting broadcasting rights and intellectual property is a shared responsibility that contributes to protecting the legitimate rights of rights holders and strengthening a commercial and cultural environment based on respect for regulations and support for creativity and innovation.

نفذت وزارة #التجارة_والصناعة جولات تفتيشية مكثفة في مختلف مناطق الدولة، وذلك في إطار جهودها الرامية إلى تعزيز الامتثال لأحكام قوانين الملكية الفكرية وقانون حق المؤلف والحقوق المجاورة، والتأكد من التزام المنشآت التجارية بالأنظمة والتشريعات ذات الصلة.

وقد أسفرت الجولات التفتيشية عن رصد عدد من المخالفات تمثلت في عرض ونقل المصنفات السمعية والبصرية للجمهور دون الحصول على التصاريح أو الموافقات اللازمة من أصحاب الحقوق.

وتؤكد الوزارة أن احترام حقوق البث والملكية الفكرية يمثل مسؤولية مشتركة تسهم في حماية الحقوق المشروعة لأصحابها، وتعزز بيئة تجارية وثقافية قائمة على احترام الأنظمة ودعم الإبداع والابتكار
