Translation
A palm wine tapper’s child who shatters the gourds has done what displeases his father the most. Gourds are a matter that pains tappers beyond words.
Àgbájọ ọwọ́ lafi ń sọ̀yà; àjèjé ọwọ́ kan kò gbẹ́rù dórí.
Translation
We beat our chest in confidence with a clenched fist; however, no single hand can raise a load from the ground to the head.
Moral
No individual, however confident or capable, can accomplish alone what requires collective effort. True progress demands shared strength. It's an established fact in life that sustainable success is achieved through interdependence and teamwork.

A ku Ojúmọ́
Akíni ńjẹ́ akíni; afinihàn ńjẹ́ afinihàn; èwo ni “pẹ̀lẹ́ o, ará Ìjàyè!” lójúde Ògúnmọ́lá?
Translation
One who will greet should greet without pretense, and one who will betray should do so openly; what sense is there in saying “Hello, Ìjàyè person!” before Ògúnmọ́lá’s
Tẹní bẹ́gi lójù, igi á kúkú rúwé.
Translation
The one who cuts the tree will be shamed; for it will sprout leaves and flourish again.
Moral
Oppressors and their oppressive acts have a short shelf life! The ones who destroy others may enjoy doing it only for a while;
because ultimately, they will be ashamed as their actions are often proven futile in the long run. The oppressed don't stay oppressed permanently! If you're being oppressed now, keep hope alive!!
