When people ask me do I believe in free will,

The answer is to that question to them is,

are you able to walk from what ever street you are standing on now to a different street?

If the answer is yes,

then that was free will & choice to move from one street

The extended answer goes deep and invites questions such as,

Is destiny or fate real?
Is there a God that creates takes and brings back life that has perished?

And that requires life experience and depth in pattern analysis
