EXCLUSIVE: Nikita Bier is running X’s creator economy by tweet, and millions are paying.

Since taking Head of Product last summer, Bier has unilaterally restructured payouts, suspended accounts, killed Communities, and reshaped what gets seen on X — announced not in policy documents but in his own posts.

The pattern hits across the spectrum. Crypto creators (@xet, @0xkekov). Conservatives (@CharlieSue_USA, reporting an 80% payout drop). Original artists (@skscartoon, @riverrat328). Christian users flagged under what Bier himself called the “most common bot bio.” Indian and global creators caught in spam nets.

But the pattern concentrates against critics of Israel. @Jvnior, a Muslim Palestinian creator, was demonetized after weeks of anti-Zionist posting. Pro-Israel accounts publicly celebrated. He was demonetized from Creator Revenue Sharing.

Bier’s response to creators losing their income? “People engaging in fraud are always the first and loudest to complain.” Posted to his own feed. 548K views. The head of product publicly characterizing demonetized users as fraudsters.
@JohnsonWil9773 — Palestine flag and watermelon in his bio — received multiple “Hateful Conduct” strikes for posts tagging public figures including Rep. Thomas Massie and Glenn Greenwald. Other Palestine-aligned accounts including @711robert7 and @WilliamsLi711 report suspensions in the same window.

Even creators friendly to Musk are sounding alarms. @Antunes1 published an open letter naming Bier directly: “The Head of Product, Nikita Bier, is taking over the platform as if he owns it, molding it to his own vision.”

This is not moderation. It is discretionary enforcement without published rules, announced by tweet, applied unevenly, and concentrated against speech critical of Israel — regardless of where the speaker sits politically.
