Mojave Max has many moods! Good luck guessing which one he is in at any given time though. Whatever his mood, we love to see that adorable face out roaming around the Desert Tortoise Habitat @SpringsPreserve since his emergence from brumation on April 23rd.

@SpringsPreserve@reviewjournal@TheBestOfLV Home Sweet Home! I may be biased, but I am partial to anything that teaches the humans about desert tortoises and how to protect us. After all, we are listed as a threatened species. Thank you @SpringsPreserve for giving me space to be 'in the wild' and Congratulations! ~Max

How much do we really know about our animal companions? Find out at Cats & Dogs, the first large-scale exhibition dedicated to these animals. This exhibit reviews everything we know scientifically, sociologically, and culturally about canines and felines. https://t.co/xBn5r77NxL

DYK desert tortoises get some of the water they need from eating cacti and desert wildflowers as well as from conventional water sources like puddles? Luckily tortoises can store water in their bodies for a long time when drought conditions occur. #learntothemax
