@historical_Afr Fact: an African cannot be considered a foreigner in Africa but can be considered a second class citizen in his/her own country on linguistic grounds. Check it.
@SankaraDispatch African youth, please take note. It could be you tomorrow as the hawks badly need our natural resources. Don't be hoodwinked like the present leaders.
@AfricanHub_ Good Advice. Moreover the West & Central African countries are poorly and erratically serviced by airlines despite the wealth of individual nations . Sometimes ridiculous to fly expensively to Europe before touch down. No vision. What Conspiracy.
Rwanda’s 🇷🇼 President Paul Kagame has urged African countries to reduce aviation taxes, fees, and travel barriers, saying that high costs and restrictive rules are limiting the continent’s economic growth.
Addressing the African Air Transport Convention in Togo, he noted that expensive flights are constraining trade, tourism, and business development.
Kagame further called for quicker rollout of the Single African Air Transport Market and smoother movement of people and goods, reinforcing his ongoing advocacy for improved regional integration across Africa.
@zoomafrika1 Indeed. How simple but patriotic our founding fathers of independence. Nyere in simple shirt. Lumumba slutered in simple white shirt. But today's monsterous vampires in 3 piece colonial suits terrorising their citizens relentlessly.
@africatechie@CMRNewsAgency Congratulations Lady Rebecca. Keep building the experience we shall need one day in a free Africa. Eh who else may need your experience; time will tell . Congratulations again.
@MimiMefoInfo Good example for the subregion for others to emulate. Management By Objectives but centered on the We the people. No Question of rotation or new wine in old wine skins.
“No country has developed without debt. So, debt does not scare me. Don't get worked up; the State will pay its debts.”
- General Oligui Nguema, President of Gabon 🇬🇦.
@MimiMefoInfo Naked truth. What is the final solution. Strong governing institutions; local solutions for local problems with an indefatigable spirit of patriotism. The Nation first.
Renowned Cameroonian political commentator Tanyi Charles Mambo has warned that Cameroon is facing a deep crisis of confidence among its diaspora, with many citizens abroad no longer dreaming of returning home.
In a reflection on what he described as “the emergence of a new class of Cameroonian exiles,” Mambo said many Cameroonians who once travelled home during Christmas, Easter and other holidays now feel disconnected from the country because of insecurity, political tensions, the Anglophone crisis and declining trust in state institutions.
He said the old culture of homecoming, where diaspora Cameroonians returned to build houses, invest, celebrate with families and support local economies, is slowly disappearing.
According to him, this is creating both a brain drain and a financial drain, as professionals, business owners and retirees increasingly choose to settle, invest and raise their children abroad instead of in Cameroon.
“Businesses are being established abroad. Retirement plans are being made abroad. Homes are being purchased abroad. Children are being raised abroad,” he wrote.
Mambo said the problem is not only economic, but emotional. For many in the diaspora, Cameroon is becoming “a country of memories rather than a destination for the future.”
He urged the government to see the diaspora not as an enemy, but as one of Cameroon’s greatest assets, with the skills, money and experience needed to help rebuild the country.
“Cameroon’s greatest wealth has never been oil, timber or minerals. Its greatest resource has always been its people,” he said.
He ended with a warning that if citizens stop dreaming of returning home, the country risks losing more than money and talent.
“For when citizens cease to dream of returning home, a nation loses far more than capital; it risks losing a part of its soul,” Mambo said. #MMINews #CharlesMambo
