@WONF4W If you have that aura, theyβll cheer. AEW creates elite wrestlers, but WWE creates megastars who transcend into Hollywood/YouTube and mainstream media. Ironically, not being pure wrestling is exactly why WWE appeals to the masses and why AEW can't catch them(2/2)
@WONF4W I thought AEW would overtake WWE (they did in ring) But this match Gunther vs Pat McAfee changed my mind. The match was poor, yet the crowd chanted for Pat and Michael Cole, even during unrelated matches
WWE's casual fans don't care about workrate; they care about star power(1/2)
@WrestlingHumble I also think Cody probably won't lose the title yet since he still has unfinished business with Randy, but at the same time, I just can't picture Gunther losing either.
P.S. There are plenty of times where a title has changed hands in the opening match anyway.
@Generalmoon145 Don't lose hope yet. History shows major titles drop in the opening match all the time: Daniel Bryan(WM28), Seth Rollins(WM40), CM Punk(HIAC 2009), Edge(EC 2009), Sheamus(EC 2010), Brock lesnar(WM35) and Gunther(WM41). There are definitely more, but I can't remember them all.
