“I added too many flowers to this beehive and I raised the rents I gentrified this beehive, now I am at another one”
5 min later
“Oh no, I got too greedy and burned it down. Wow this is a metaphor”
We were taught to barricade not count the disproportionate deaths by guns in America. We were taught to jump instead of how to reach out to and connect with neighbors. We were taught how to die instead of how to rise up and bring change.
There are some parts of high school lost to the brick walls, but I will never forget two things, first was when we had a bomb/shooter threat and for 45 minutes we sat in a dim classroom on the second floor, silent except for the intense hot breathing we shared, packed together
Then, in the classroom where calculus was normally taught, they showed us how to barricade doors. In the classroom where Spanish was normally taught, they showed us how to jump out windows. In the classroom where history was taught, they showed us how they would try to shoot us
Sgt. Erick Estrada of the Texas Dept of Public Safety tells @andersoncooper the shooter crashed his car near the school, got out with a gun and wearing body armor, was engaged by law enforcement, but made his way into the school anyway and went classroom to classroom shooting.

Whoever was speaking talked about the awesome power of God’s mercy, to show just how great it is said that god will give mercy to all even the Jews who “were once the best friends of god are now god’s enemy”
I never really understood why there was still anti-semitism until now
Stumbled onto christian radio, decided to stay and listen was hoping to hear something about the love of god, ended up hearing blatant anti-semitism, I was awestruck and not in the way they wanted me to be. @moodyradiochi there are better ways to speak of mercy than through hate
