#PresidentNelson101
Just days before President Russell M. Nelson’s 101st birthday, TIME magazine has published an op-ed authored by the prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
President Nelson shared what he described as his birthday wish for the world as he shared two truths that contribute to happiness and peace. His message reminded worldwide readers that 1) each of us has divine worth and dignity, and 2) we should love our neighbor and treat them with compassion and respect.
“My faith teaches me that over two millennia ago, Jesus Christ preached these same laws of happiness: to love God and to love our neighbor,” President Nelson wrote. “After 101 years, I can say that these are not abstract theological ideas — they are practical wisdom. They are what have sustained me through loss and triumph, uncertainty, peace, war, and healing. If we embrace these eternal truths — honoring our own worth, treating others with dignity, and nurturing our families — our lives, and our world, will be steadier and more joyful.”

Dear brothers and sisters, when challenges in life knock our self-confidence, please remember that disciples of Jesus Christ have access to a different kind of confidence. When we make and keep covenants with God, we can have confidence that is born of the Spirit.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints affirms that Jesus Christ came forth out of the grave and lives today as a resurrected being.
Clear evidence of Jesus Christ’s literal Resurrection—His physical appearance to His disciples and others after His crucifixion—can be found throughout the New Testament:
•At the site of the empty tomb, Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene, who was the first person to witness the resurrected Lord (see John 20:11–18).
•Cleopas and another disciple walked with the resurrected Christ on the road to Emmaus and later dined with Him (see Luke 24:13–35).
•Christ appeared to 10 of the Apostles and said, “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:39). The Apostles gave Jesus “a piece of a broiled fish, and some honeycomb. And he took it, and did eat before them” (Luke 24:42–43).
•The Apostle Thomas felt the wounds in Jesus’ hands, feet, and side: “Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing” (John 20:27).
•More than 500 people simultaneously saw the risen Lord in Galilee (see 1 Corinthians 15:6).
•Paul stated he personally saw the resurrected Lord (see 1 Corinthians 15:8) and taught about the living Christ: “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Corinthians 15:20).
The Apostle Paul taught, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22). Because of Christ’s Atonement and Resurrection, all who have ever lived on this earth will also be resurrected to live forever as resurrected beings.
The universal resurrection is certain, and it is literal. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is truly the most glorious event in history.
A non-member co-worker made a comment to me today about her seeing “the young kids singing that beautiful song about Jesus” on social media. Primary kids are reaching far beyond members watching #GeneralConference over the weekend.
“Many today say that miracles no longer exist, that angels are fictional and that the heavens are closed. I testify that miracles have not ceased, angels are among us and the heavens are truly open.” — #ElderBowen#GeneralConference
"I am here in a beautiful place, learning the teachings of Jesus, wrapped in the arms of my Savior. I feel His gentle touch. "
This beautiful song touched me deeply. Thank you💖
