HELP FREE STATE POLICE TO LOCATE MOABI ALEX THEKISO, A RESERVIST AT EXCELSIOR SAPS

Police in the Free State continues with the search for Moabi Alex Thekiso (50), a long-term serving Reservist at Excelsior SAPS who works under Rural Safety Coordinator at the station.

Muvas or Modoi, as Thekiso is popularly known as, went #missing on 31 July 2026. Moabi stays in Mahlatswetsa, but frequently travelled to destinations such as Ficksburg, Clocolan, Ladybrand, Mangaung and Bufulo Trust in Thaba Nchu to visit relatives. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a brown jacket and grey jeans.

The police pleads with the public to help reunite Moabi Alex Thekiso with his family. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Ladybrand Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit on 071 686 0393. The information of Moabi's whereabouts can also be communicated with Excelsior SAPS Station Commander, Captain Tebogo Paul Phalatsane at 082 525 2833. Alternatively, members of the public can call the SAPS CrimeStop number at 08600 10111, or submit the information on the MySAPSApp.

DURBAN — The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health has strongly condemned a video circulating on social media that shows a nurse physically assaulting a patient at King Dinuzulu Hospital Complex.

In a statement on 19 August 2026, the Department said the conduct is completely unacceptable and violates the core values of the healthcare system. The video allegedly shows the nurse striking the patient on the face while making inappropriate remarks.

The Department confirmed the nurse will be placed on precautionary suspension with immediate effect, pending a full internal investigation, and assured the public that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

Police are appealing for help to locate 17-year-old Kabelo Junior Motlokoa, who went missing on Saturday after leaving home to play football and never returned.

He was last seen wearing a brown tracksuit top, blue tracksuit trousers with white stripes and black slippers.

I chose "Collect at Store" - TotalSports, Tubatse Crossing Mall, Burgersfort.
On 29 July 2026 I went to collect. I opened the package at the counter WITH TotalSports staff as witnesses.
The box was tampered, damaged, and EMPTY.
There was no iPhone inside. please note that on the pictures the blue plastic was sealed.
I took photos as proof in store.
the staff contacted Bash immediately, they told the staff they will communicate with me through email. I attached what they were saying They refused a refund, replacement, or any help.
I am now R19,999 down with nothing to show for it.
I have reported Bash to the National Consumer Commission @NCC_SA and I am opening a SAPS case for fraud.
