Scottish soccer fans have managed to do what 2 centuries of St. Patrick's Day parades couldn't: drink Boston dry. The "Tartan Army" over the weekend managed to empty bars and liquor stores while celebrating the national teams 1-0 win over Haiti. The Boston Taproom even ran out of Sam Adams, its famous Boston Lager. From Thursday to Sunday, the Scottish fans drank 4 times more than what sells on the St. Patrick's 4-day holiday. One downtown bars refrigerator even broke because they opened the door so often to get out alcohol. That's some heavy drinking.

I bet the store and bar owners loved the profit.
