MP Craig Thomson has been forfeited as suspected proceeds of crime after the former union boss was jailed over an immigration visa fraud scheme.
The NSW Supreme Court ordered on Monday that a further $117,000 be handed to the Commonwealth after Thomson admitted they were the proceeds of crimes committed between 2017 and 2020, the Australian Federal Police said in a statement on Wednesday night.
The latest court order ballooned the amount forfeited over the visa scam to more than $580,000, with the AFP confirming their investigation had identified hundreds of thousands of dollars linked to the suspected offending.
