AI slop design is everywhere. Good design is still rare.
The problem isn't the AI tool. It's expecting creativity from a single prompt.
📝Here's how I combine human taste, design references, and AI to create better visuals:
1. I don't start by asking AI to create a design from scratch.
2. First, I visit platforms like Pinterest or Behance to explore designs created by others.
3. I search for what I need using simple keywords like "X banner", "X cover photo", or "LinkedIn poster".
4. I go through different designs and find one that closely matches what I have in mind.
5. I don't plan to copy the entire design. I use it as a reference and starting point.
6. Then I think about what I can improve, remove, replace, or add to make it better.
7. Sometimes, I explore more designs to find other elements, backgrounds, typography , colors, or styles that could work well together.
8. I think about how these different elements can be combined naturally into one design.
9. Once I have a clear idea, I upload the reference image to an AI image generation tool.
10. I explain exactly what I want, step by step, including what should stay the same and what needs to change.
11. If my requirements are complicated, I first ask AI to organize my ideas into a clear, detailed image generation prompt.
12. I read the generated prompt carefully instead of using it immediately.
13. I check whether the prompt correctly explains the reference image, my intended changes, and how everything should fit together.
14. If something is missing or unclear, I ask AI to improve the prompt.
15. Once I'm satisfied with the instructions, I use the final prompt and reference images to generate the design.
16. I review the output, identify anything that looks wrong, and make further adjustments if needed.
17. I repeat this process until the design looks close to what I originally imagined.
🔑 The idea is simple: Don't let AI do all the thinking.
🔑 Use your own creativity to explore, select, combine, and improve ideas.
🔑 Let AI help you turn those ideas into a finished design.
💌 And finally, huge respect to the original designers and creators whose work inspires us.
💌 Their creativity, attention to detail, and countless hours of hard work are what make these designs possible in the first place.
💌 AI may help us create faster, but the creative minds behind the original work deserve the real credit.

One more thing I really liked:
all of these are built using Rust @playrust , one of the fastest and most powerful modern programming language.
Rust gives you native performance, memory safety, and cross-platform support without relying on a garbage collector.
If the project keeps expanding, it'll be interesting to see how far a Rust-based open-source ecosystem can go against traditional proprietary desktop software.
And yes, they're all open source.
But thats not all.
If you check out the GitHub profile: https://t.co/9epUL3enSi
You'll find even more open-source tools that you can use in your daily life.
No more Excel subscription!😁
Also if you are interested checkout their cloud subscription part as well.
Open source is getting seriously interesting. Thanks @get_artcraft .
