This is (was) good quality Herefordshire soil on a reasonable slope. A disaster caused by: a super wet winter; cultivations up and down the slope; lack of cover; lacks organic matter and is probably compacted. This is what is killing our rivers and streams. It is an easy fix.

The final pattern in this year's @MonnowRivers early season dry fly box, a quill-bodied CDC emerger for March Browns/Large Brook Duns. Tied on a @Partridge_Hooks 15BNY, CDC wing, CDL tails, @Deercreekflies Fine Flex over stripped quill, spun CDC thorax, and raffia thorax cover.

⁦@MonnowRivers⁩ doing its job controlling non natives. The Mink are controlled entirely with volunteer monitors allowing us to protect our precious Water Voles. Himalayan Balsam control allies native species to re-establish
