Pain. Perhaps nothing in human experience drives us to ask questions and seek answers like pain does. Pain has driven me from being a pain patient to a pain researcher, but ultimately to being a better human. Amazed, grateful and humbled. #research@TEDx@TEDxAalborg@CNAP_AAU
A new twin study has strengthened the link between tattoos and cancer risk.
For tattoos larger than a palm:
🔺 137% higher risk of skin cancer (HR = 2.37)
🩸 173% higher risk of lymphoma (HR = 2.73)
Let’s break it down 🧵 1/11
Last year I had the honor of being a @TEDx speaker in Aalborg. And now it is finally up!

Great study by @giuliaespo_ and co-authors in @ImagingNeurosci 😎🫡
They found that the primary sensory cortex (S1) is involved in the encoding of fine-grained spectrotemporal features associated with different vibration patterns

We recorded significant cortical responses to such spectrotemporal contrasts, and their topographical distribution following hand or foot stimulation was compatible with S1 activity:
So many posters still to see this morning at the @IASPpain#WC2024!
@Montelezzi from @CNAP_AAU is at #FR310 discussing Homeostatic plasticity of contact-heat evoked potentials 🔥 🧠
Waking up this morning for day #3 at #WC2024@IASPpain after @CNAP_AAU refreshing our minds with a networking dinner with Australian and American friends 🇦🇺🇳🇱🇩🇰🇺🇸🇮🇹🇲🇽🌎 ! So good to come together and share what we do in and outside pain research 🤗
