@Globalbaba8@FilmiHindustani You are comparing a 5-10 cr product with Matrix and Inception?
I said he can make a “decent product” with that kind of budget.
I dont know if Shatranj Ke Khiladi by Satyajit Ray or Junoon by Shyam Benegal made any money in 1978, but these films can be watched even today.
@FilmiHindustani True. In 1978, two movies were made Satyajit Rays “Shatranj Ke Khiladi” and Shyam Benegals “Junoon”. Both films are archival and can be screened in film festivals in 2026.
How many people are going to sit through some 1978 box office blockbuster in 2026?
@Globalbaba8@FilmiHindustani Again depends on how much money is invested in these films. 5-10 crores is peanuts and AK can make a decent product with it. They can fetch that money from OTT or even ad revenue from Youtube. These films will be watched 15-20 years from now. Not every film is a dhando venture
@AgyaaniBaaba@NishitShawHere Yes, there are studios that can spend 5-10 crores on an AK movie. That is token money for them.
AK films are archival and will be watchable 10-15 years from now.
Easy to fetch 15-20 crores from OTT and can be showcased in film festivals abroad.
This type of cinema should exist
@maroonporsche@gogokaghagraa Amitabh started looking way older than his age and had hair thinning issues by the time he was 48 yo. This was due to the Coolie incident and the 4 years stint in politics.
@gogokaghagraa@myhegemony Amitabh took a 4 years break in 1984 when he was 42 yo and entered politics at the peak of his career. Took one more 5 years break in 1992 when he was 50 yo and returned with a risky project like ABCL putting his brand name on stake. He was already late to make a comeback.
@chiragbarjatya It would be better if they place the buffet inside the gym.
Gyms should have chaat and samosa stalls and different types of sweets etc.
Indian parents would say “mera beta gym ka khana kha ke healthy (mota) lag raha hai”
@Neutronstarrrr1 More than the plastic waste i think the gross biscuit, undergarments and coconut oil adds on every nook and corner of Calcutta has done immense damage to the city.
@InfraAddaofWB One Heritage Museum will be good but we need to involve the British and French experts because of the shared history. Artefacts from 1757 till 1947. If it really has to be world class. Otherwise it will only be a namesake project and end up slightly better than a Puja Pandal.
