The Stüssy World Tour T-shirt first appeared in 1989, created by founder Shawn Stüssy.
A strange addition to the Rave scene with it being a surf brand from California, although another surf brand, Ocean Pacific also had a spell under the strobe lights.
I remember a trip to Florida in 1990 and searching the outlets and malls to no avail. They were only available in Surf Stores, which is where I picked up a blue version.
On the front of the tee were the names of cities associated with giants of high-end fashion and glamor are written in a formal Helvetica type. London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo – these were the cities considered to be the style capitals of the contemporary world.
