AI hardware is coming in every shape and form, with more context being collected along the way. But context isn't the product. It's what accumulates when a product solves a real problem well.
For Moonphase, that problem is close to intention: capturing, organizing, and acting on to-dos. We believe the order matters. Solve the problem first. Let context build from there.
Even our E-ink screen and phone-back charging start with everyday problems: battery life and a screen you can actually keep on. The product also has to be tangible, visible, and responsive. The 3.4-inch touchscreen gives intention and agents a physical window to connect, with something you can see, touch, and respond to.

Not that long ago, hardware still had pretty clear jobs. Your phone was for calls, your MP3 player was for music, your camera was for photos, and your watch told you the time.
Then the smartphone absorbed almost all of it, and manufacturers are still finding new things to stuff into that poor little phone.
But it didn't take long for the pendulum to start moving the other way. We're seeing more hardware built around a specific purpose again, with devices going back to being really good at one thing.
It looks like a step backwards. We think it might actually be where hardware is heading. A tool doesn't need to become a department store. Sometimes, it just needs to do the thing that matters really well.

There was no big "aha" moment when we started Moonphase. It actually came from a very ordinary frustration.
Ideas went into notes. Reminders went into phones. Promises lived in chat messages. Meetings had transcripts. You see, we were already writing everything down. Most of the time, it worked. But every now and then, we still missed that one thing we really couldn't afford to forget. The follow-up we never sent. The promise we forgot. The idea that could have changed something.
So we started thinking: maybe we don't need another place to store information. Maybe we just need something that can connect all these scattered pieces and help us understand what actually needs to happen next.
That's where Moonphase began.

Wednesday Hot Take: Do you ever feel like you can't really be away from your phone anymore?
It's where we work, talk, laugh, get angry, kill time... basically, a huge part of our lives now happens on that little screen. But none of this was really something we sat down and chose.
We've all done it. You pick up your phone to check one thing, and a few seconds later you're on Instagram or Reddit, completely somewhere else.
Technology shouldn't have to fight us for our attention. It should give some of it back.
