haven't between the chapter yet but the flowery fight fucking sucks ive been on this for 2 hours now mostly dying to the same things i despise this fight
why am i even arguing about this show it's fucking useless almost every "fan" (mainly those who participate in fandom) of this seems to be deeply illiterate, immature, or a literal child. its not even worth it idk why im doing this i just like the purple bunny.
i am allowing myself to be snarky 1
time
do most of people who watch this show just not understand visual information?
we see pomni opening a door and looking into it, which is framed through the door. we are shown an event that did not happen. pomni's view is echoed at the end.
i wish they made it a bit clearer that the ‘i can fix you pomni’ was part of jax’s mindscape and not actually the real thing because i can already imagine the kinda bullshit they’ll be saying about her over on tiktok
there is no way i can see how anyone could not understand this wasn't "real" unless they either were not looking at the screen or are deliberately obtuse. fake jax literally looks to pomni before slamming the door
@seracoate@PopDetective@jessiegender yeah i completely agree with this. i think i just personally view it as more of a demerit to the film than others do, and i personally just kinda sour on it the more i think about it because of that and some other technical issues
@seracoate@PopDetective@jessiegender i guess i just dont find the way the film does it all that interesting then, and that's where we disagree. to me it just felt like it got to that conceptually and never went further.
@seracoate@PopDetective@jessiegender im not really coming from a place of discussing the films themes here cause those are laid out and we're at an understanding there. im just focused on how it's done on a craft level at yhe moment. and i think the craft is just not that great on Barker's end
@seracoate@PopDetective@jessiegender yeah, the film just does a bad job of showcasing that or making it enough of the focus. i understand the intention, it's a very obvious and unsubtle one. i just think it does a bad job at it and many of the films formal elements detract from it.
@seracoate@PopDetective@jessiegender i never said bear was innocent or even portrayed as such. and it doesn't really subvert it because it just plays it straight while having bear also suck. the film does not intend to portray him as a victim, but it unintentionally does, harming the intended reading of the film.
@PopDetective@jessiegender it basically just wants to do "scary crazy obsessed woman" horror but be woke about it. and barker just does not have the writing chops to be woke about it.
@gaykittycorps it varies a bit in quality. has a lot of glaring issues but it has some stand out moments, particularly with the two characters the series obviously cares about more than the others. if anything, there's an ~20 minute portion of the finale that makes it all worth it imo.
also god i need to watch like a good real movie or something my life has been fucking miserable and i have not been able to bring myself to really watch something that i feel is worthwhile or challenging or whatevers
like last few things i saw were digital circus tonight, and obsession and backrooms a week ago with my girlfriend.
i only feel like i got something truly meaningful out of one of these for like 20 minutes and it was the one where they put the tgirl bunny through hell
decided to finally watch the amazing digital circus and realizing jax is just the 2020's version of vriska serket helped me understand the insanity of this show's fanbase
@kordacpz board 2 works much better than 1 cause it feels like something actually Happens there. i think it'd be improved if it just had a section like the controller swapping that gives some nice character bonding/growth/insight etc. not that it doesn't have that, it's just not as strong
@kordacpz like, i feel like i almost have to force myself through board 1 to a degree to fully enjoy the chapter (it's still good, just significantly weaker than most other sections of the game) and the doom board just drags on a little too long that it loses some of the punch
been watching some fnaf theory videos in the background cause this franchise is a fascinating oddity to me, and it's so obvious that a lot of confusion could be cleared up by realizing scott cawthon is probably just Bad At This lmao
that or he's making things deliberately obtuse and unsolvable so people will be stuck in the sunk cost fallacy and keep buying the games, or cause it just lets him have other people come up with the story and he just gets to pick something regardless of how well it works
