I've thought about this before, but reading this with my morning coffee reminded me of the huge disconnect between urban Southern NH and the mostly rural rest of the state.
The only way Manchester is "the heart of central New Hampshire" is if you think Concord is the northern extreme of the state.

I know the idea of #NHexit is popular in some circles (NH leaving the USA and becoming it's own nation) but that's not going to happen.

But hear me out.
Our neighbors in Maine have the same issue. So here's my plan. Coos, Carroll and Grafton counties split off from the rest of the state. Maybe toss in the northern halves of Sullivan and Belknap counties too. That's roughly dividing the state in half by area. Sounds pretty fair to me. Northern NH and northern ME merge together and become the new New Hampshire, and Southern NH and southern ME merge to become the new ME.
I'm not married to the names, I am just getting tired of people who chose to live on top of each other trying to change zoning so they can expand into the areas where people just want to be left the fuck alone. Flip em if ya want so @FreeStateNH doesn't have to change their @ name.

Working at Oculus would have been an utter waste of my time except for one thing.

While I was there, I realized what's wrong with leftists.

Not that they have been programmed, that's obvious. Not why they have been programmed. For power, that's obvious, too.

But how they have been programmed.

The exact method that their moral compass has been destroyed works like this:

Target a bunch of people with very few deeds and accomplishments, such as young people or incompetent people, or incompetent young people.

Create for them an environment where they are rewarded with moral approval, not for what they do, but for believing certain ideas.

The ideas don't have to be outrageous, or absurd, or have anything to do with what you actually need them to believe. In fact, it's better to start with something innocuous.

Why? Because the goal isn't to install those beliefs at all. The goal is to repeat this process until you create a person who measures his moral worth by what he believes, not what he does.

Keep at this until you have created a mass of people who not only reward themselves with a feeling of moral superiority for believing the right things, but who will reward each other for believing orthodox things, and who will compete with each other, not to do the most good, but to have the most orthodox beliefs.

Now, change one of the propositions you have programmed them with to a slightly more radical version of itself, and hold this up as a more correct version of the old belief, which has been newly discovered by scholarly investigations into culture and moral philosophy.

Sit back, watch, and give them a few weeks to compete with each other to adopt the new belief, and to condemn the "evil" of anyone who believes the old belief, the very thing they believed last month.

Repeat this process until they are used to rapidly changing their entire belief system in response to an external cue.

Congratulations, you have a population of entirely programmable people whose moral compass is not just broken, but entirely non-existent.

They don't care what any person in front of them actually does. Only that he believe the orthodox thing, which they just learned about in last week's memo.

They are willing to do anything, so long as it is done in support of their current belief system, which can be replaced whenever it's convenient to do so.

They are willing to burn down an entire city with no qualms whatsoever if they are doing it in support of the idea that black lives matter.

They are willing to murder a man in front of his children, and it doesn't matter if his actions were entirely peaceful and good, because all that matters to them is whether he believes the correct things or not.

And a man who builds cheap spaceflight for the human race, develops viable electric cars to save the environment, restores voices to the voiceless, and plans, for his next trick, to heal the blind... well, all those are deeds, so none of them matter. The only thing that matters is that he told people to vote republican once, which is wrongthink.

So what you have a horde of communist zombies, who can be steered to shuffle in any direction and attack the living, eat their brains, and turn them into more zombies.

Once someone becomes one of the zombies, you can't cure him, because a moral compass can only be repaired by understanding the consequences of actions in a new way... and they don't care about actions or consequences. They only care about beliefs, and not about consequences at all.

Their moral compasses aren't just broken. They are absent. There's nothing to repair.

You have to understand that the zombies are zombies now.

Palpatine: “Did you ever hear the tragedy of the Libertarian Party?”

Anakin: “No.”

Palpatine: “I thought not. It’s not a story the Libertines would tell you. They started with noble intentions but it became clear rather quickly that the party was a psyop and controlled opposition. Despite rising taxes, forever wars, unbearable inflation, and the surveillance state expanding into every facet of daily life, thousands of liberty activists still spent their time circle jerking in this glorified social club. Meanwhile, libertarians in NH seized control of government at every level and created prosperity, freedom and liberty for themselves as the Libertarian Party completely fell into obscurity and fizzled out entirely."

Anakin: “Is it possible to learn the Free Stater strategy?"

Palpatine: “Not from the Degen Libertarians."

@spacemanfaure @Badhombre I believe Texas has that liberal early voting bullshit. So even if it checks out, most people in the district will have probably already voted.
Yet another reason it's called election DAY, not election MONTH.

[Chris @Mopar]

@printpaint6 @serrapedro And other libertarians understand that once you look past both mainstream and social media, the federal govt has very little impact on our daily lives. What does have an impact is the fact that roughly 1 out of every 4 NH state legislators generally votes along libertarian lines.

🚨 BOMBSHELL: Two former members and one current member of Katy Padilla Stout’s congressional campaign staff have come forward, speaking under condition of anonymity, to describe what they call an extremely hostile work environment.

The current staffer alleges that Stout routinely berates and curses at her staff. “She’s mean and angry all the time,” the staffer said. “Her smile in front of the cameras is fake. She treats us like slaves. She has us do her grocery shopping, take her dogs to the groomer, and pick up her kids from school, stuff completely unrelated to the campaign.”

The staffer continued: “Earlier this month I requested a day off to drive to Dallas and visit my mom, who was scheduled to receive her first round of chemo. I had worked 11 straight days with no days off. Katy went psycho on me during the phone call, telling me, ‘Are you fucking kidding me with this stupid shit two days before a debate? We’re not playing these fucking games. You either start giving me 110% ASAP or I’ll fire your ass.’”

One former staffer said Stout frequently had blowups over food. “On one occasion, one of my colleagues went to pick up lunch for all of us at Tacos El Rey, which is around the corner from the office. Katy ordered two asada tacos, a chicken taco, a carnitas taco, a cup of beans, and a cup of rice. It was her usual order. When she opened her bag, she noticed the carnitas taco was missing.

She went absolutely crazy on my colleague, accusing her of stealing food and asking if she didn’t pay her enough that she needed to steal. As my coworker tried to explain that they probably just forgot to put it in the bag, Katy threw the cup of beans at the wall where my coworker was standing, told her, while she was crying and visibly shaken, to clean up the mess and earn her paycheck, and then stormed out to eat in her car.”

Another former campaign staffer said, “She’s made her whole campaign about how her opponent treats women, that he’s a misogynist and says inappropriate things on his YouTube channel, but she would say super inappropriate sexual stuff all the time when I was there. It got really awkward sometimes because she’d go into detail with me about sexual dreams she’d had. It made me and others feel really uncomfortable.

On many occasions I witnessed Katy refer to other women as ‘bitches’ and ‘cunts.’ On a separate occasion, we had the TV on and Scott Bessent was doing an interview. Katy referred to him as a ‘f*ggot Nazi enabler.’ I had to step out because I didn’t want to say something that would get me in trouble. I resigned about a week later.”

[Chris @Mopar]

@KennethChester Well, not quite THAT early, but my local ski resorts was testing their snowmaking equipment the week before last.

Traditional Halloween is alive and well in New Hampshire

[Chris @Mopar]

Scariest Halloween costume I've seen this year:

[Katy Padilla Stout @katy4congress]

🎃 Nothing scarier this Halloween than a grifter dressed like a Texan.

Nothing scarier than higher prices on diesel, gas, groceries & healthcare.

There’s nothing scarier than sending someone who won’t stand up to Trump or billionaires in Congress to fight for you.

Fought 8yrs of Dan Malloy. When Ned "Dan 2.0" Lamont won, we got a real estate agent, and closed on our home here before he took office. Anyone in NH whining about taxes here should try living in CT for a few years.
