SM @NasrulHamid_MP highlighted the MoPEMR's top prioriries in the 24-25 FY at a press briefing today: Uninterrupted #electricity supply, #RenewableEnergy, and exploration of new #gas wells. He also mentioned focus on #hydropower import and strengthening of #transmission capacity.

#Bangladesh has been elected Vice Chair of the 27th Council of International #RenewableEnergy Agency (@IRENA), the second highest body of the Agency comprising of 168 countries and the #EU.

The Govt has proposed to allocate Tk 30,317 Crore to the MoPEMR in the 2024-25 FY, which is 3.8% of the total budget. Of the proposed amount, Tk 29,230 crore will go the the Power Division, while Tk 1,087 crore has been allocated to the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
