@UNISONFifeHlth@kittysull1 I just hope that Unison can find the courage to stand up for female members in light of the words of Andrea Eagan on the EA2010. We won’t keep paying subs if Unison won’t stand for Women’s rights.
@redrumlisa@HeartlandsTrib If I were a well endowed lecturer at this Uni, I would match his outfits and take a photo each day of us both, not together I doubt he would agree to it, then on the day I was inevitably balled out for having my baps hanging out of a tiny vest top produce the pics as my defence
@psychsocwatchuk It’s quite astonishing really, I imagine that should a female academic with real, or surgically enhanced, breasts this size were to attend her workplace with this amount of cleavage on display she would be almost immediately reprimanded.
@DillingtonII@OCStationary@nocontextEFC Unemployed or able to get a job in another business/sector? Joe bellend and his pie shop aren’t the only option you know.
@NeilJ94163976@DominicMcGregor The difference is I think it’s tough shit for Bill, he is a bad businessman he doesn’t get special treatment just cos he has staff - if you can’t afford staff don’t have them.
@wooody120@bea_kil@RickyEaston2@kokeshimum You do realise that many if not most employed people face similar dilemmas. You’re not special because you own a business. It’s the hard facts of life and you just have to lump it. Either get a second job or accept the standard of living the business you own gives you.
@wildey_1@OCStationary@nocontextEFC No we just don’t think being held to ransom by blokes with a property portfolio and two pie shops is warranted because he employs around 40 people. He can suck it up and cover the increases or he can wrap up his business and fuck off.
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja Lost the ability to buy £20 coffee cups. Likewise, decade + spent reducing funding to the university sector and maintenance loans that don’t evencover the rent, has led to loss of businesses in uni cities, cos students cannot afford to go out anymore and there are fewer of them.
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja Sector skilled roles too. But the balance must be maintained because eventually businesses suffers too much and we loose employers - see Denby over a hundred years and a huge employer in the region gone💨 because they lost their European market and British middle-classes
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja And spending power increases in the middle. Minimum wage increases stop people dropping off the bottom too fast into situations where full UC is more attractive than pt working, and the narrowing gap justifies increased public sector pay in skilled roles then they push up private
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja However, if the government reinstates public sector salaries too quickly the right-wing media would lose their shit big style, so it’s got to happen slowly. This will however stem the brain drain out of the U.K. and slowly improve society as services improve again.
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja Leading to stagnation across the board. Only the top end saw meaningful growth, the rest of us slipped inexorably towards downward social mobility. This is why businesses like Denby have gone bust. W-C people don’t buy £20 coffee cups.
@DebatesSwfc@ScottFranc64406@RobNoLastName@BarrhillBruja I agree, the middle classes have been hammered during the last 16 years. A huge part of the problem there was/is ‘Tory Austerity’ the freeze on public sector worker’s salaries meant the private sector no longer had competition at the M-C end of the economic equation.
