We regret sincerely the hurt & disappointment disabled fans felt in the wake of the AMPCon blow up & hope others hands will be inspired to get fan-run, fanworks-focused cons into the world again.
In light of recent public revelations regarding fandom bullying, AMPCon would like to reiterate that we are fully opposed to bullying in any forms (whether rude DMs, threats, pressure campaigns, etc.) and are fully committed to accessibility for disabled fans.
@amyreg@tea_or_die I really did mess up -- I had talked to Val after this VERY awful and upsetting interaction and thought things were smoothed out and apologies would fix it, but I was wrong --really wrong. Should have done many things differently including listening to Val's anger better.

Plan forward outline in coming weeks and months
- Recruitment of new volunteer team, including leadership team
- Volunteer positions will have job descriptions and clear chain of command
- Revised code of conduct with clear guidelines for violations
Training and strengthening understanding of accessibility issues
- Team leaders for accessibility, technology, communications
- Determining feasibility of scaled down virtual event
- Determining feasibility of in-person event in Ohio in late 2023
Two separate issues that became interconnected--
1) ln private DMs Pandora insulted Val using unacceptable language. Val insisted that Pandora be dismissed, and we handled that very badly.
2) there were accessibility issues with using Discord for some of the panels focused
