This is so true, but such directives can also change our focus so that we take our eye off the ball and fail to take a more holistic approach.

We often introduce rules to “improve” safety and care pathways in health. But please think about the unintended consequences of the ever increasing directives. Educate don’t regulate. Trust clinicians and a little discretion is good for care.
