I like your response and I want to build on it.

I will share the experience I had with A (names withheld; now qualified and earned the ACA). A was struggling to pass Adv Audit, after successfully passing other papers in one sitting.

A wrote AAA three times before joining the class, and was clearly frustrated, even by the idea of re-sitting again before joining my class.

Now, the challenge moved from understanding AAA and the examiner's requirement, to putting A in the right frame of mind for the exam.

Many times, A showed doubts.

One day, I asked "Why do you give up?"

A told me "I can't. This means a lot to me"

That was the turning point.

I told her focus on how we can help you pass your AAA paper, don't worry about failing.

The worst that could possibly happen is that you failed, and you have failed multiple times already.

On assessment of A's understanding of AAA, A understands AAA and can discuss the principles, relevant ISAs and key concepts, but when it comes to writing the answers, A doesn't know how to interpret questions. Therefore, gives wrong answers or incomplete answers.

key Lesson:
When some candidates fail, they tend to focus on the disappointing result, do the same thing and fail again instead of looking to identify why they failed and correcting their mistakes.
