Hi Ginger. A sad 1 unfortunately. Were u aware of Glen hansard, r his band the frames? Us here in Ireland hav suffered a tragic loss after he passed away in the early hrs of tues morning after a motorcycle accident. Only 56, leaving behind a 4 yr old child.

That's not Trump at 20. He was 17 when that picture was taken at the New York Military Academy, a military school his daddy paid for so he'd look tough.

Two years later, when real war came calling, the same daddy paid his office tenant, a Queens podiatrist, to invent fake bone spurs so his son wouldn't have to go to Vietnam.

The same man who mocked POWs, "I like people who weren't captured". Trump himself couldn't remember which foot hurt. Left foot. Right foot. Both feet. Whichever foot kept him home.

That's just the beginning.

He was found liable for sexual abuse by a federal jury.
He is a convicted felon, 34 counts.
He cheated on every wife he's ever had.
He sold crypto coins from the Oval Office.
He accepted a $400M jet from Qatar.
He tripled his wealth in office while cutting food assistance for the poorest Americans.

The man on the right?

In 1997, actor John C. McGinley’s son, Max, was born with Down syndrome. Shortly after, John's talent agent pulled him aside to deliver what was framed as practical advice: Do not talk about this publicly. Keep it quiet. People will stop hiring you.

For some, that might have sounded like reasonable career preservation. Protect the livelihood, avoid the spotlight, and pretend nothing had changed.

John’s response was immediate. He fired the agent.

Then, he did the exact opposite of what he had been told. He brought Max everywhere. Red carpets, talk shows, film sets, and public events. Wherever John went, Max was right beside him. At a time when society still largely preferred to keep individuals with developmental disabilities out of sight, John made a different choice. He made his son visible. Openly, proudly, and entirely without apology.

What began as a father's protective instinct grew into decades of fierce advocacy. John became one of the country's most recognizable voices for Down syndrome awareness. He spoke at global conferences, testified before Congress, and fought hard for employment law reforms that created real opportunities for people with disabilities to work, earn, and live independently.

During this journey, a reporter asked John a question that revealed far more about society's biases than it did about Max. The reporter asked if John ever wished his son were normal.

John didn't hesitate. He replied that Max was normal. The question wasn't. It was a blunt rejection of the idea that a person’s worth is measured by how well they fit into a narrow, conventional box.

Decades have passed since that conversation. Max is now 27 years old. He works, navigates his community, and lives an independent life filled with possibilities that the critics in 1997 never could have imagined for him.

Reflecting on their journey, John often says that Max never limited his life. He expanded it. Through his son, he learned what love, patience, and true commitment require.

The world signaled early on that it would have preferred Max to remain hidden in the shadows. John spent nearly three decades ensuring that the world looked Max right in the eye. Some fathers protect their children by shielding them from the world. Others protect them by refusing to let the world look away.

True inclusion begins when we stop treating differences as deficits. Max didn't need to change to fit into the world.

The world needed to change to make room for Max.

Did you know Ireland was the home of Werewolves? They didnt need a full moon to transform and werent bloodthirsty beasts. They were from Ossory, a medieval Irish kingdom spanning modern Kilkenny and parts of Laois.

The Werewolves of Ossory are among the oldest and strangest "lycanthropic" (man-wolf) traditions in the world. They werent monsters but cursed Christians, warrior-nobles, pilgrims, and penitents. Great bunch of lads. The earliest origin of the Ossory werewolves is a medieval text, Cóir Anmann, or The Fitness of Names.

Here we encounter Laignech Fáelad, a shadowy powerful figure. Laignech was said to be the brother of Feradach mac Duach, an early king of the region. Unlike his royal sibling, Laignech possessed a more troubling habit. He “used to go wolfing”which according to the text meant he could transform into a wolf at will. The ability did not die with him. His descendants inherited the power, roaming the countryside in packs, raiding cattle and killing herds “after the fashion of wolves.”

Another famous account comes from Gerald of Wales, writing in the late twelfth century in his Topographia Hibernica. By the way the aul TH is notorious for mixing genuine observation with barefaced English colonial contempt. Yet even Gerald seems unsettled by what he records. He recounts a story told to him by a priest travelling through Ossory in 1182. One night, deep in the woods, the priest encountered a wolf who spoke to him in fluent Gaelic. It begged him for help!

The wolf explained that he and his mrs were human beings from Ossory, cursed generations earlier by a local holyman Saint Natalis. As punishment, every seven years a man and a woman were forced to leave human society and live as wolves. When their term ended, they could return, provided they survived, and another pair would take their place.

Sadly his she-wolf wife lay dying and needed the Last Rites. The priest hesitated, so to convince him, the male wolf reached out with his paw and peeled back the wolf-skin from his wife’s head, revealing beneath it the face of an elderly woman so the priest administered the sacrament.

There was also widespread belief held that when a person took on wolf form, in a type of astral travelling with their human body lying at home in a death-like trance.A wound suffered as a wolf would reappear on the human body once the seven years ended, cuts, broken bones, scars carried across forms like a grim accounting.

Modern historians view this tradition preserving the memory of something older. Wolf-warrior cults were found across early Indo-European societies. In Ireland, young warriors often lived beyond the margins of settled society, wearing animal skins, adopting lupine hairstyles, and embracing ritual ferocity. Over time, metaphor hardened into myth.
