Freshman Addie Kimmerle (C) won two elim rounds, finishing in the quarterfinals of nationals (elite eight!)
The NDT went well for the Bears! The qualifying teams of Sam Cade / Brenden Lucas and Jake Shew / Connor Burns did not clear, but each accumulated 8 prelim ballots.
Bear debater Sam Cade cleared in the 21st seed position, and beat higher seeds from U Nebraska in doubles and octofinals, snagging the 5th seed position for a quarterfinal tomorrow morning against Lafayette.
Bear debater Lauren Woodall cleared in the 9th seed position, defeating Texas State in doubles before losing 2-1 to Western Kentucky in octofinals. Lauren is a senior and qualified for NFA all three years!
NFA Nationals is off to a great start for the Bears! We competed in IE's for the first time at NFA, with Julian Garrett qualifying in ADS & Prose. Justin Albright also qualified but missed on points in LD.
CEDA Nationals went well for the debating Bears! Our two teams with novices (competing in open) won several rounds, Jake Shew & Connor Burns missed on points, and Lauren Woodall & Justin Albright cleared to triples, grabbing a ballot from GMU. Lauren is a senior, others younger.
