This paper answers why confident idiots run the world.

Cornell University published a psychological paper that explains every terrible boss, every loud influencer, and every broken corporate hierarchy.

It’s called “Unskilled and Unaware of It.”

they tested participants across logic, grammar, and humor to measure the gap between actual performance and self-perception.

And the results are wild.

participants scoring in the bottom 12th percentile consistently believed they were operating in the 62nd percentile.

they were not lying. they were literally incapable of recognizing their own incompetence.

the paper revealed a brutal paradox:

the exact skills required to master a domain are the exact same skills required to accurately evaluate your own competence in that domain.

if you lack the skill, you inherently lack the cognitive capacity to realize you are failing.

this creates a dangerous systemic loop.

the incompetent are blessed with absolute, blinding certainty. their brain protects them from their own ignorance, allowing them to speak first, demand authority, and never second-guess their decisions.

meanwhile, the actual experts suffer the exact inverse.

top performers in the study consistently underestimated their rank. because a task was easy for them, they falsely assumed it was easy for everyone else.

they hesitate. they obsess over nuance. they assume they have nothing unique to add.

we are biologically wired to confuse confidence with competence.

the loudest person in the room gets promoted, gets funded, and gets the microphone, not because they know what they are doing, but because they are physically incapable of seeing what they don't.

the only defense mechanism is building systems that stop rewarding absolute certainty and start demanding proof of work.

It also outlines how to restore it rapidly after a collapse or massive shock to the system

Dolores Cannon’s take is basically: Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti are not just animals or monsters — they are an ancient, shy, evolving intelligence related to humanity, but on a different evolutionary branch.

In The Convoluted Universe, Book 1, Cannon describes them as creatures “locked in evolution,” widespread in mountainous regions, extremely shy, psychic, able to sense humans from a distance, and “related to man” like humanity’s “little brothers.” The key idea is that Earth can support more than one intelligent species, but humanity’s fear and domination prevent open contact.

Her view seems to be:

1. They are related to humans, but not exactly human.
Dolores frames them almost like a parallel Earth race — not apes in the normal sense, not aliens in the simple UFO sense, but another intelligent species developing alongside us. “Little brothers” is the vibe: younger or less technologically developed outwardly, but highly sensitive and psychically aware.

2. They are deeply connected to Earth and nature.
They are portrayed as nonviolent, elusive, and in tune with the planet’s life force. They avoid humans because humans are dangerous, noisy, aggressive, and disconnected. That fits the broader spiritual interpretation: Sasquatch as a guardian/keeper of wild places.

3. They may communicate telepathically.
Dolores’ material says they can sense other beings at a distance and hide before being seen. Some summaries of her work also describe them as telepathic or psychic, which explains why people may feel watched, receive impressions, or have dream/contact experiences instead of normal physical encounters.

4. They are not here to hurt us.
In Dolores’ framing, they are shy and afraid of man, not predatory monsters. That matches a lot of Indigenous and spiritual Sasquatch traditions where they are treated less like “cryptids to capture” and more like powerful forest beings that deserve respect.

The Law of One / Ra Material has a much stranger take. Ra says there are three types of Bigfoot: one connected to souls from Maldek working through karmic restitution underground; another engineered body prepared by guardians as a possible vehicle in case of nuclear war; and a third “thought-form.” Ra also says some have glowing eyes and are good at avoiding detection.

So in Law of One terms, Bigfoot is not one simple species. It is a label humans use for multiple phenomena: physical beings, hidden races, and nonphysical/thought-form manifestations.

Indigenous perspectives vary by tribe and region, but many Pacific Northwest traditions do not treat Sasquatch as just a joke or monster. Some Native voices describe long oral traditions, ongoing relationship, protection, sovereignty, and spiritual significance connected to the land. OPB quoted Indigenous scholar Phil Cash Cash saying many Plateau communities have names for the being and some have “a very deep ongoing relationship” through oral tradition. The Suquamish Tribe also describes Sasquatch as spiritually significant and tied to traditions about beings that share the land.

The more modern “Sasquatch Message to Humanity” material goes even further, presenting Sasquatch as elder forest beings/interdimensional relatives giving environmental and spiritual warnings to humanity — basically saying humans have lost connection with Earth, spirit, and right relationship.

My read across all of it:

Bigfoot represents the hidden intelligence of Earth. Not just “a hairy ape in the woods,” but a mirror to humanity. They are what we might have been if we stayed more telepathic, earth-connected, quiet, respectful, and in harmony with the land instead of becoming loud, extractive, technological, and spiritually disconnected.

The common threads are:

They are ancient.
They are related to us somehow.
They are highly psychic or interdimensional.
They avoid us because of our consciousness.
They are guardians/keepers of nature.
They may become more visible as humanity shifts.
