Views from the rose garden, 20 June: we may be past the peak of the season, but there's plenty of colour and scent in the walled garden. Rambling roses spill over archways and many shrubs are still in bloom.
Many of the roses we care for only flower once a year. We leave the once-flowering shrubs and ramblers to produce rosehips, which provide colour in winter and are an essential food source for wildlife. We deadhead any repeat-flowering shrubs.
We care for the National Plant Collection of Pre-1900 Shrub Roses, which flower just once a year. This annual spectacle attracts thousands of visitors. Our gardens remain open until 8pm (last entry 7pm) on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 29 June. https://t.co/jUsJKhKn16
Views from the rose garden, 13 June: we're just passing the peak of the season, and the roses are in full bloom. The north garden is full of colour. Roses will start to fade over the coming weeks, but the walled garden will continue to offer a treat for the senses.
Unfortunately, our main car park and overflow have reached capacity. We should have more car park spaces available after 2pm. Please respect our local community and keep the road and verges clear. Thank you. (9 June)

We care for the National Plant Collection of Pre-1900 Shrub Roses, which flower just once a year. Over 1,000 individual rose plants bloom at peak season.
