If I had to start again in AI and software engineering today, I would do a few things very differently.
1. I would pick one path and stay there longer than feels comfortable
Not Python today, JavaScript tomorrow, AI next week. I would choose one core stack and go deep. Depth creates confidence, and confidence creates opportunities.

2. I would learn by building, not by consuming
Courses feel productive, but they can trap you. I would focus on small real projects early. Even if they’re messy. Even if they fail. That’s where the real learning happens.

3. I would attach everything to a problem
Instead of “I want to learn React” it becomes “I want to build a dashboard that solves X.”
Tools make more sense when they are tied to something real.

4. I would document everything publicly
Most people underestimate this. Sharing what you’re building, what you’re struggling with, what you’re figuring out. That visibility compounds. Opportunities rarely come from skill alone, they come from people seeing your skill.

5. I would get comfortable being bad in public
This is the part many avoid. Your early work won’t be great. That’s fine. The people who improve fastest are the ones who keep shipping anyway.

What I would avoid:
1. Tutorial hopping
Starting and not finishing is the fastest way to stay stuck.

2. Over-optimizing tools
You don’t need the perfect stack. You need to build.

3. Waiting to feel “ready”
You’ll never feel ready. Start anyway.

What helped me move from learning to earning:
1. Building projects that looked like real products
Not just “todo apps” but things people could actually use.

2. Showing my work consistently
One post can change your trajectory. But you have to keep showing up.

3. Positioning myself around outcomes
Not “I write code” but “I build systems that generate revenue, automate processes, or scale products.”

If I could tell my beginner self one thing:
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to know enough to build something useful, and the courage to show it.
Everything else figures itself out.
