I have spent 22 years working on pest animal related projects, MouseAlert is a digital tool to help farmers monitor and report mouse activity on their farms.
A few that dodged the mice. Then the rest of the paddock got plucked before they got going. Never mind, the good folk at @APVMA have been collecting a wage for months whilst deliberating the merits of ZP50.
Burnt and sown to canola. 3 days later footage taken. Think the mice have a taste for canola seeds… 1kg of 25gai ain’t going to cut it here. Hoping it’s not a re seed...@APVMA@MouseAlert
Went for a fox hunt tonight. Established that there is a pretty high level of food for them in the paddocks. Like I was astounded to see the mice numbers.
Mouse numbers are rising in parts of WA ahead of seeding.
Reports north of Geraldton show up to 40 burrows per 100 m² — well above the 2–3 burrows that signal concern.
Monitor paddocks now and prepare to bait at sowing if mice are present. @CSIRO@MouseAlert

👀 Check out this incredible thermal footage captured by @Warraboy last month, showing mice activity in sorghum crops & stubble near Warra, QLD 🐭
Ideal conditions have caused a surge in mice populations across cropping areas on the Darling Downs, southern QLD & northern NSW
We're urging all growers to inspect their paddocks & log local activity

ESCALATING mice numbers have been reported on cropping properties in QLD between January and April 2025 – after a big winter-crop harvest left more feed in paddocks.

A natural fungal agent is being explored for use against flaxleaf fleabane #weeds.
GRDC has invested in the search for biocontrol agents that can reduce the weed’s growth, ability to compete for soil moisture, & set seed.
The project involves 2 phases. The first phase, led by @CSIRO’s Dr @GoodenBen, is now complete.
