Only 1-4% of Autism Speaks' budget actually goes to autistic people and their families for support (they are more interested in trying to prevent us from existing).

Meanwhile, their executives make ENORMOUS salaries, some at more than $600k a year.

@octoberphiliac yes, every time. it's always a surprise and I'm like OOHHHHHH that's why I slept all day and ate two full bags of popcorn. but that's how I am with all bodily stuff. every day I have to figure out that I need food, figure out that it's time for bed, etc.

Undiagnosed autism is spending your whole life doing things that make you uncomfortable or that are just not "you" (conforming) to avoid being mistreated (bullied) until you're so good at it that when you finally do get diagnosed, people around you don't believe you.

- Autism Speaks is a hate group that wishes to eradicate autistic people
- identify first language is largely preferred
-the voices of actually autistic people are much more important to listen to than autism moms
