Who Owns Scotland?

Since September 2022, I have been building an online platform that enables you to find out who owns rural land in Scotland. It is the latest iteration of a project I started over 30 years ago in 1994. Today I am publishing the latest update (July 2026) which contains ownership information on 5050 landholdings covering 5.9 million hectares (14.7 million acres) or over 77% of rural Scotland 1/2

@LucyHunterB My dad had cancer treatment and there was a terrific focus on keeping mobile- Lanarkshire. I myself did not quite realise at the time why the physios were constantly pushing my dad to walk. I am sure glad they did. Likewise, he fell and broke his femur. They had him up in days.

@JournalismSEEN I've stopped listening to this prog. I used to really enjoy it- the uplifting spiritual dimension. Over the past year or two I've noticed the gender ideological underpinning shine through. There was a trans minister and numerous other little examples. I' ve switched off.

@alexmassie This ideology isn't only in the public sector. It is deep in private sector HR departments, policy and practice. My large Scottish employer has no mention of woman in its maternity policy, had a trans inclusive toilet policy and issues language guides with terms like cisgender.

@jk_rowling @WombleFlyBoy I think he maybe chose for the courts to decide the matter to ensure a) the 'trans' lobby couldn't take the government to court for removing the men from the women's estate & b) his own party activists were placated. He did us a favour really, albeit I find it a cowardly act.

@JoaniReid I hadn't known about the protests so thanks for the post. But we are having civil unrest due to government failings to protect our borders and women and children. The unrest will only grow, and could become extremely dangerous for everyone, unless serious action is taken.
