A 25-foot bronze statue of late Assamese icon Zubeen Garg will be erected at Charan Beel Park in Morigaon to commemorate his immense contribution to music and culture. The announcement was made by Assam Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika on Tuesday, October 14, during the Bhumi Pujan ceremony marking Morigaon District Day.
âOur #BelovedZubeenDaâs towering legacy will forever inspire generations. To honour his unparalleled contribution, a 25-ft bronze statue will be installed at Charan Beel Park, Morigaon,â Hazarika wrote on X.
The statue, designed by noted sculptor Biren Singha, is a joint initiative of the Morigaon District Administration and the Tiwa Autonomous Council. Hazarika said the monument would stand as a tribute to Gargâs lasting influence on Assamese art, culture, and identity.

#JusticeForZubeenGarg: This picture of Zubeenâs wife Garima Garg at his grave breaks our hearts. She is sobbing, seeking justice - to know what exactly happened with her husband.
This case is unlike other cases. Hence, the process should be different too.
People of Assam are keen on knowing whatâs in the Post-Mortem or Viscera report. By law, it is illegal to make it public. However, increasing politicalisation has raised serious concerns of manipulation.
The SIT should invite @GauravGogoiAsm, @AkhilGogoiAG & @lurinjtgogoi and show them whatâs in the reports. Irrespective of the political opinion, this will give an unbiased view on the matter.
Assam Police through Indiaâs Home Ministry has already seek Singaporeâs assistance, submitting a letter at their Attorney Generalâs office. However, since Singapore Police are also conducting an investigation, they have not yet submitted any information.
This case is unlike any other cases. We will voice till justice is served.

APSC is fine. Now also initiate an enquiry to identify people who forged documents, hid their academic qualification and got appointed in Grade4 posts (ADRE 1.0) inspite of being Graduate.
This is unfair to the other candidates.
