AI agents right now are basically smart employees that still live in someone else’s house.
They don’t own their tools.
They don’t control their compute.
They can’t settle value without asking permission.
That model feels temporary.
The real question isn’t “Can AI agents trade?”
It’s “Can AI agents become independent economic actors?”
Because until they can own their own compute and settle on-chain without a middleman, they’re still just advanced software running on rented infrastructure.
That’s the gap Astarter is trying to close.

It’s not about making cooler chatbots.

Low fees + high speed matter a lot when agents are making many small decisions and payments throughout the day.
A slow or expensive chain would kill the whole idea.
They’re currently in Phase 02 (mainnet + $AST TGE targeted for Q3 2026).
The token that holds the system together is $AST.
It’s used for:
Paying for compute
Rewarding node operators
Governance
Protocol services
Not just another governance token with vague utility.
It’s meant to be the actual settlement layer for agent activity.
What I find interesting is the philosophy behind it.
Most projects ask: “How do we put AI on blockchain?”
