My software developer friend made 10million naira last month
He is just 22.
No connections.
He is a Computer Science grad.
No salary, no gig for the last one year but last month he made 10million naira.
What changed?
He stopped looking for jobs.
And started selling his dadโs land.
Back in 2021, during my coaching course at the National Institute for Sports in Surulere, Lagos, I approached this man and asked if he could give one of my boys a chance to trial with 36 Lion.
He told me to bring the boy the following morning.
The next day, we met him outside Legacy Pitch. He took one look at the boy and immediately said, "This one can't play football."
His reason? The boy still had a bit of baby fat.
I pleaded with him to at least give the boy a chance to prove himself. Instead, he responded that if he allowed the trial and the boy failed, he would have both of us arrested by the police.
I turned to the boy and encouraged him to take the opportunity regardless. But he refused. He said the comments were too disrespectful and humiliating.
That day, he went home, dusted off his certificates, started looking for a job, and never looked back at football again.
Sometimes, talent doesn't die because it isn't good enough. It dies because of how people are treated.
@badgalcor She comes off as quite self-centred, but then again, she might have spent years struggling with fertility herself. It really just depends on how you look at it. perspective changes everything.
Nigerians are very wicked people.
All of a sudden they're claiming that opening Outlier account for someone will jeopardize their stay abroad.
Outlier that has been there since 2021.
They're just pissed off that Nigerians living in Nigeria have found a way to earn in dollars with minimal stress.
If you don't want to open for your relatives, it's fine, but stop making stupid tweets to discourage others from opening for theirs.
